About
When I started the Largo Tribune, I wanted more than just a news site.
I wanted to create a platform to share ideas — to explore what drives our community’s culture and people.
The Largo Tribune’s mission is to share our view — as teenagers — on the events that shape our lives. We aim to empower our mission through four desks: Community, Arts and Style, Sports, and Opinion.
Through our Community desk, we will report on the decisions made in Largo and beyond, and the people behind them. We’ll be keeping an eye on how the School Board’s decisions impact students and families. Our team will focus on the new $81 million Largo City Council project and the discussions happening there. Beyond local politics, we’ll cover the spirit and events that bring our community together.
At our Arts and Style desk, we’ll focus on trends and ideas. Our writers will cover theater, style, music, and art in and out of Largo, analyzing the artists and their stories. More so, Arts and Style will chronicle Largo through its personalities and people, with a sharp focus on the performing arts.
From Sports, we’ll share updates on the latest games; sports reporters will provide live coverage of the most thrilling and high-stakes competitions. But we’re going beyond the scores — we want to help our readers understand the work happening behind the scenes with athletes and their teams. Sports will strive to capture the driving forces behind the championship moment.
Within Opinion, we’ll share our takes — opinion, though, is for everyone. We’ll publish our incisive perspectives on the latest decisions by the School Board or City Council, as well as our takes on student life. Our Opinion section will reflect the broad views of our community.
Every piece we publish represents a viewpoint and an experience. We want to share how our lives reflect what’s going on beyond Largo.
Note: The Tribune is not affiliated with Pinellas County Schools and is independent of Largo High School.
